Beautiful vintage starburst clock made by Gorenje in 70's Yugoslavia.
Gorenje, [like Iskra] is still a successful company today is one of the great brands of Yugoslavia, producing high-quality, well-designed household items, which were almost unknown to the rest of the world until recently.
This is a classic Yugoslav nostalgia piece, with its great design and excellent quality. As noted by Prof. Jonathan Woodham, much of socialist design was written-out of 20th Century design, despite is absolutely relevant innovation and quality. As time has passed since 1989, more and more interest in this "hidden" design culture is emerging. The more you see and learn about it, the more you like and want it.
Condition:
Vintage condition with plenty of ware and patina as seen on the pictures, but no broken parts and original mechanism still works.
